About Kid Kelly

Kid Kelly started his full time radio career existing on $130 dollars a month, sleeping in a used car, and washing in McDonalds until he was able to rent an illegal apartment/store front window pained black where heroine attics would shoot up at the front door.

He eventually became a 25+ year industry veteran spending over a decade at then Top-40/Pop powerhouse WHTZ (Z100)/ New York as a No.1 rated jock in his Nighttime slot in the late ‘80s and then returning twice again in various capacities as Z100 Assistant Program Director and eventually Operations Manager title in the ‘90s.

Kelly also created and (still) hosts the -first- weekly nationally syndicated 80s radio program ‘Backtrax-USA,’ which is currently heard on approximately 250+ stations worldwide and is officially credited as the first to launch the 80’s phenomenon by the Wall St. Journal (Rodney Ho Columnist) and by VH1’s Rebecca Rankin Report.

He created (and hosts the first 90s Show/Format/ Backtrax-USA-The 90’s’ which is also currently heard on 150+ additional radio stations.

Kid Kelly was also the Vice President of Music Programming for Pop Formats at SiriusXM Radio which included PD responsibilities and the creative vision to build what became (then) North America’s most listened to Top-40 station “Hits 1”.

He was inducted into the National Radio Hall Of Fame In 2018.
